SMC/BMC composite materials

When using SMC/BMC technology to produce products, it is used as a thickener for unsaturated polyester and polyacrylic acid resin composites.

ProMag high activity magnesium oxide is a powdered product obtained by indirectly calcining and crushing natural magnesium hydroxide; As a thickener for the production of composite materials for glass fiber filling using SMC/BMC process.

ProMag  is used as a thickening agent in the production of glass-reinforced SMC/BMC composites.

SMC/BMC materials are the basis of a mixture of various components, including unsaturated polyester or polyacrylate resins, mineral fillers (talc powder, flame retardants), shrinkage compensators, colorants, and thickeners (crosslinking catalysts) that crosslink the composite and increase viscosity.

Magnesium oxide applied in this field must have a high specific surface area and stable particle size distribution. Choosing the right thickener is the most important condition for obtaining high-quality parts without molding defects, cracks, and dents.

According to the production formula and process conditions, choose the corresponding grades: ProMag150 and ProMag170.
